Thanks in part to Sheryl Sandberg's Lean In movement, the landscape which women view themselves is starting to change. Stock photos, the notoriously cheesy images used for advertising and editorial content, are getting a modern and motivational face lift. According to an interview with LeanIn.org's editor Jessica Bennett in the New York Magazine's online section The Cut, Sheryl Sandberg told the Times stock imagery is an important feminist issue because “you can’t be what you can’t see.” Click through to check out some of the images.
